Northwestern-ly breeze!

Alex is pursuing three job posts at Northwestern.  I don't know anything about Northwestern.  I've been told it's ivy league... does that mean ivy growing on it is a good thing?  No, I'm not kidding.  While growing up in Texas I had only heard of Harvard, Yale, Duke and Stanford and the Texas schools: University of Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech and Texas A&M.  I guess no one expected I'd actually leave Texas or have any affiliation with those who would seek employment at an ivy growing institution.  What kind of ivy is it anyway?
