First post...new obsession?

Oh, the possibilities.... thanks to my neighbor, Kirsten, I'll probably never crack open a book again. On the other hand, this is great time-passer-byer while I wait for Mr. Artie to fall asleep. But after seeing Kirsten's kids on her blog ("hey, what's Ellie and Rowen doing on your computer") that probably won't happen for another half hour. In fact I haven't figured out yet, WHY or HOW he can possibly be awake when he's had such a busy day. I thought that kids who don't nap, come home and crash out. I guess I"m wrong!

So the kids are about to turn five and two. I was going to go all out with the party this year because I know this is our last year here and I don't know if we'll have this kind of community next year. I wanted the boys to have a great memory of a huge, wonderful birthday party. But since I started my academic journey, I'm too busy. Also I don't think they have to have the entire student family housing community to wish them a happy birthday to make them feel special and loved. I think just ordering a transformer cake would be enough for Mr. Artie. Nico Paci just wants to sing "Happy Birthday". So I scaled it down substantially, only renting the community room with the windows and cancelled our live entertainment, juggler and flame thrower. OK, I didn't actually have a juggler and flame thrower, but Ken Lonnquest was going to do a show. Can you imagine the expectations I would have set?
